Hi Folks,
ARRRGGGHHH!!! So here we go again. Just when you think it's safe to poke around in the woods, here comes a pant-load of snow to screw with your plans. But of course this is from someone who doesn't downhill ski, right? And of course all you peeps who are a-twitter about this weekend's Backcountry Ski Festival are surely in hog-heaven. Just not those of us who will need to deal with the predicted 18+ inches of snow in our driveways and on our decks!
So you're probably wondering why your seeing the Thursday ice Report on a Wednesday? Well I figured it was going to be difficult to neigh-on impossible to get up in the Notch to take pictures tomorrow, and since it will be snowing, I won't be able to take any anyway. Right??? So I decided, smart guy that I am, to go this morning at dawn to be sure to actually be able to get some pics. And besides, I actually take my "job", that some have actually paid me to do, seriously. I'm kind of that way...
It was interesting driving up as it got lighter. Unfortunately it was cloudy the whole time, so it was hard to get a good crisp picture since I didn't bring a tripod. This time I decided to drive to the top and take pictures as I came back, the opposite of what I normally do. Basically things were about what I expected. It's unfortunate, but we've had a pretty good season until a or so week ago and I guess we should all be happy with what we've had, right?
NAAAAH, I want more..

There was some OK riding in the mornings this week, but with this big snow dump, I gotta think that may be done for a bit. A couple of inches will be OK, but 12-18, not so much. LOL The snowmobiles aren't out any more, so the regular places won't be packed down. However, if we're lucky, they'll be grooming Whittaker Woods and Great Glen and they should be OK.
