Hi Folks,
I've been very busy the past couple of days and was going to take a week off, but then late today I changed my mind. Here's a few somewhat random thoughts...
Amazingly some folks are still heading up into the ravines to grab what they can. I know Matty Bowman and others were up there earlier in the week and said it was great. And who knows, with colder temps on tap it may be worth the effort. Personally I'm holding out for warm rock.

I want to thank everyone who supported me this season. I sincerely appreciated it. Here's to a fun spring, summer and fall rock season. Let's keep our fingers crossed for a great 2022 ice season. Maybe we will even have an Ice Fest next year!!! And remember, the White Mountain report still comes out every Thursday throughout the year. Stay tuned...
As I was coming back from errands this afternoon I looked at Whitehorse. I can still see ice & snow up above the slabs so I would consider climbing there problematic. The South Buttress is looking good, tho getting there might be interesting as there's still lots of snow and ice on the ground. I can see ice in the nooks and crannies on Cathedral, especially on the right side. With Unicorn still holding on to its cache, I'd certainly stay away from the North End.
With Humphreys as dry as it is and Jockey Cap quite good, why risk an incident?

Today was the end of my 2 week waiting period after my second shot and I must say I feel grateful. I'm eyeing the #'s continue to increase here in NH and other states, even as we get more shots into more arms. Much of it seems to be from younger people, which is disappointing. I'm not going to harangue you folks this week, partly because it's Easter and partly because you know the deal. 1, 2 you KNOW what to do!

The MTB trails are just too soft for riding right now and I don't want to be that guy who makes a mess. That said, with a couple of more sunny days, the upper single track on the East side like Sidehill and Rattlesnake will be good to go. That area drains well, unlike much of the West side.
I did say I was going to be back on the road, and I have been. I've done 3 pretty good rides on the road this week: 1 from Dana Place to the top of Pinkham and 2 in Jackson. Jackson is one of my fave places to grab a road ride because overall it's very quiet. Plus if you want to pound it out there are loops you can do to get in close to 30 miles and 3,000' of climbing.
Up on one of the Mount Washington Valley's finest crags and want to know what that climb you're looking at is? Or maybe you're on your way up from Boston and want to check out the Ice Report for your upcoming weekend plans. Or more likely, you're at work just want to daydream about your next adventure.
