NEClimbs - information for New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont rock and ice climbers
BugCON 2: some mosquitoes, possible blackflys swarming with minimal biting
2 out of a possible 5
Climbing Area Index / Cathedral Ledge / Funhouse Direct (5.8)
Directions:  Just right of 3 Birches, scramble up past roots to a ledge and a large right-facing corner.
Description: A nice, though somewhat strenuous, direct start to Funhouse. Initially the FA party had to aid the top of the corner since it was totally plugged up with dirt. There actually was an overhanging grass hummock similar to a snow cornice. They finally freed the corner after hacking off the cornice.
Pitch 1: Layback the corner to its top, step left and continue to the belay. If you step left just before the top it's mucho easer!

Gear: standard rack
Descent: Rappel from the belay tree or finish as desired.
History:  1969 - Joe Cote, Lary Poorman
