Hi Folks,

So sorry folks, no White Mountain Report this week. It's New Hampshire Motorcycle Week and I'm over the top with music gigs in and out of town. I got to bed this morning at 2 AM and heading out in about an hour for an out of town date. But, I promise I'll be right back on it again next week. meanwhile, enjoy this absolutely wonderful weather for as long as it lasts.
Ice Conditions Report:
Selected Ice Conditions effective November 26, 2020
YUP, the ice has been forming in the notches and the higher elevations, tho nothing here in the Valley. People have been climbing in Tucks, Pinnacle and I even heard that there was reasonable ice on Mt Avalon - tho that's a slog. That said, it's not clear where things will be after this weekend's rain and warmup. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. At least all this sure puts some water in the system. [wry grin]

PS if you're in town check out Ed Webster's show at IME tonight at 7. I'm sure it will be fantastic. Cheers... Al

Up on one of the Mount Washington Valley's finest crags and want to know what that climb you're looking at is? In 1961 I led this chimney in a state of metabolic uproar. At the base of the pitch I smoked several cigarettes (the first and last ones of my life). This was to calm me. Then I spooned half a jar of honey. This was to ensure superhuman strength. Mort Hempel, my partner, watched this silly ritual with mouth agape and eyes exploding with fear.
