Hi Folks,

What an incredible weekend of climbing at Ice Fest 2019. I hardly think we could have asked for a better weekend. There were a ton of great people, some amazing presentations, fabulous clinics and plenty of ice for everyone. Kudos to Brad White and Rick Wilcox, the Ice Fest Crew and all of the awesome volunteers for putting on yet another stupendous event.

I was fortunate to be a part of this years Fest, guiding on Friday and Sunday. Friday was an Alpine Skills clinic up on Willies Slide. It was a chilly day, but at least it wasn't very windy. Sunday I did an Alpine Still climb up Cinema Gully, across the upper tree ledge and ending up doing a pitch on the East Face Slabs. Both days were highly enjoyable for all concerned.

If for some reason you haven't made it to any of the now 26 Ice Fest, you owe it to yourself to make it to at least one. It's quite amazing
Ice Conditions Report:
Selected Ice Conditions effective March 27, 2020
The ice is done and I am no longer issuing reports. I had someone text me personally asking about the status of ice in the Ravines. Even if I know something, I am no longer going to answer those questions. IMO it is irresponsible to be climbing, other than maybe on a top-rope at this time. I know it's beautiful out there right now. I GET IT! But climbing is generally a group, or at least duo, activity. Everyone touches everything. And if I touch something of yours, that means I have touched everything that you have come in contact with for the past 14 days. I love climbing and the group dynamic as much as anyone, but climbing right now is simply not worth the risk. You simply cannot guarantee that you are 100% safe and put everyone in jeopardy.

VALLEY CYCLING:
It's pretty terrible right now, but as soon as things chill down it should be great again.
