What an incredible weekend of climbing at Ice Fest 2019. I hardly think we could have asked for a better weekend. There were a ton of great people, some amazing presentations, fabulous clinics and plenty of ice for everyone. Kudos to Brad White and Rick Wilcox, the Ice Fest Crew and all of the awesome volunteers for putting on yet another stupendous event.
I was fortunate to be a part of this years Fest, guiding on Friday and Sunday. Friday was an Alpine Skills clinic up on Willies Slide. It was a chilly day, but at least it wasn't very windy. Sunday I did an Alpine Still climb up Cinema Gully, across the upper tree ledge and ending up doing a pitch on the East Face Slabs. Both days were highly enjoyable for all concerned.
If for some reason you haven't made it to any of the now 26 Ice Fest, you owe it to yourself to make it to at least one. It's quite amazing

It's pretty terrible right now, but as soon as things chill down it should be great again.

Each climber loses one finger or toe once in a while. This is a small but important reason for Polish climbers' success. Western climbers haven't lost as many fingers or toes.
Climbing is a very dangerous sport. You can get hurt or even kill yourself. When you go climbing, you do so of your own free will. Everything on this site is to be taken with a grain of salt. Don't blame us if you get up some totally heinous route, in over your head and fall and hurt yourself.
