Hi Folks,

It's impossible for me to seriously recommend any place to ice climb right now, other than the upper elevations. And even those can be iffy on a sunny day! One would think Dracula, LHMW, Upper Hitchcock and the Cleft will hang tough for a bit longer. However you should be prepared to retreat if necessary. It's been a very short season this year and I'm starting to hope for an early start to rock!

I saw the above happen as I was starting my video report! Nuff said...

SOME LOCAL/NATIONAL PANDEMIC THOUGHTS:
Seven pop-up COVID-19 testing sites closed for the final time this afternoon, as demand for testing continues to diminish across New Hampshire. All tests conducted at these sites, even if people had no symptoms or exposure to the virus, were free. Right now, major state labs are processing around 4,000 tests per day, down from over 15,000 earlier this winter. Home tests are now stocked more consistently at pharmacies, liquor stores and health centers.

New Hampshire:
3 New deaths reported
48 New hospitalizations
904 Active cases
48 Current hospitalizations for COVID
2,431 Total deaths due to COVID-19

United States:
Confirmed: 79,680,739
Deaths: 969,772

Global:
Confirmed: 464,827,855
Deaths: 6,063,839

I find JHU's Daily COVID-19 Data in Motion report to be very informative. It shares critical data on COVID-19 from the last 24 hours in a short 1 minute animated video format.

OUR ONLY WAY OUT IS IF YOU GET VACCINATED, WHERE RECOMMENDED PLEASE STILL WEAR A MASK, WASH YOUR HANDS!

VALLEY CYCLING:
Unless you ride early morning or on the road, you may be SOL until the snow fully melts and the mud dries up. Believe me, I'm not a happy camper.

Mobile Version Of NEClimbs:
Up on one of the Mount Washington Valley's finest crags and want to know what that climb you're looking at is? Or maybe you're on your way up from Boston and want to check out the Ice Report for your upcoming weekend plans. Or more likely, you're at work just want to daydream about your next adventure. Well if you have a smart phone handy, you can get to NEClimbs from anywhere you have cell service. While it doesn't offer every single feature of the site and it's not an "app", in mobile form, it does do a whole lot and is very useful. Here is the live link to the mobile version of NEClimbs:

Check it out and if you have issues on your specific phone, please feel free to let me know.
