Was I so wrong when I said we should "put a fork in it" last week? I don't really think so, and yet there are still a few folks out there grabbing what they can. [wry grin] I was at the gym late (for me) on Wednesday afternoon and a friend mentioned they had seen people on Standard, Dracula and Willies on their way through the Notch earlier! But I will say that they looked somewhat climbable today. Go figure...

Friday December 19 at 3:40 - it's 52 degrees and raining1 Almost all of the snow is already off my roof. It's supposed to go below freezing overnight, but get back above 32 during Saturday. You may want to seriously consider giving things a few days to recover. Just sayin...

MUSICAL NOTES:
I will be at the Majestic Cafe on Friday with my friend Jim McLaughlin on piano and Craig Bryan Jr on drums. Then on Saturday at Ledge Brewing the with Jim McLaughlin Group 6-9. Both should be very fun and creative evenings.
VALLEY CYCLING:
I stopped and had a look at Rogers Crossing on my way back from Crawford Notch this morning. There was just a somewhat packed 8" wide strip and it was somewhat crunchy. It didn't look as if anyone had been in there in at least a few daze. I'd just forget about it. I know that the COOS trails up in Berlin are officially closed as are Kingdom Trails. So I guess we just wait on warmer and drier weather, unless you want to ride on the road like I did last week. [sigh]
Mobile Version Of NEClimbs:
Up on one of the Mount Washington Valley's finest crags and want to know what that climb you're looking at is? Or maybe you're on your way up from Boston and want to check out the Ice Report for your upcoming weekend plans. Or more likely, you're at work just want to daydream about your next adventure. Well if you have a smart phone handy, you can get to NEClimbs from anywhere you have cell service. While it doesn't offer every single feature of the site and it's not an "app", in mobile form, it does do a whole lot and is very useful. Here is the live link to the mobile version of NEClimbs:
Check it out and if you have issues on your specific phone, please feel free to let me know.

If you can bang a pin in with your ice axe without anyone yelling at you and you packed the whiskey 'cause it is the only thing that won't freeze, you're probably alpine climbing.
Climbing is a very dangerous sport. You can get hurt or even kill yourself. When you go climbing, you do so of your own free will. Everything on this site is to be taken with a grain of salt. Don't blame us if you get up some totally heinous route, in over your head and fall and hurt yourself.
