Rock Routes at The Bluff: grouped by Area, sorted by Name
Description: The Bluff (a.k.a. Bert’s Bluff) is a small crag just southwest of the popular Humphrey’s Ledge containing mostly short hard problems. Best noted for the, appropriately named, hard sport route Obsession. Ask local climber George Hurley for the origin of its name!
Directions: Follow the stream-bed just left of Humphrey’s until you see a large flat area on your left. This is a “vernal pool”, a shallow pond with water only in the wet seasons. Angle left (northwest) up a climber’s trail. (In 1999 there was orange take.) The trail meets the cliff near its right side at the hard crack climb, Bloodline. Obsession is the bolted overhanging face a few few right of Bloodline.
